Japanese Hariko
Hariko (Japanese papier-mache) is made by patching paper on a wooden mold. The figurine is then hand-painted to create various animals, characters or lucky-charms. I made a full sketchbook of gouache paintings to explore those designs and then created these posters that recall old woodblock-prints of Japanese toys.
